Trade-offs of 20 years of management on sequestration, stabilization, and stratification of soil organic matter

Soil carbon sequestration and nitrogen are hot topics in cropland management. The Russell Ranch Sustainable Agriculture Facility conducts decadal soil sampling across cropping systems that are part of the Century Experiment to investigate soil physicochemical dynamics over time, and results of our 20-year sampling were recently presented in a poster at the international tri-society ASA-SSSA-CSSA meeting.
